President Erdoğan conducts intense diplomacy traffic at NATO Summit

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held bilateral meetings with leaders including President Emmanuel Macron of France, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine, Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the United Kingdom, and Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany on the sidelines of the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit.

President Erdoğan engaged in intense diplomacy traffic at the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit held at the Walter E. Convention Centre in Washington, the capital of the USA.
President Erdoğan met with Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary on July 9, the first day of the summit, while he met Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of Greece, President Giorgia Meloni of the Council of Ministers of Italy, and Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany on July 10.

President Erdoğan held bilateral meetings with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine, President Emmanuel Macron of France, and Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the United Kingdom on the last day of the summit.

President Erdoğan also interacted with numerous leaders during summit sessions and meetings.

"Türkiye’s EU accession process should be revitalised"

The meeting between President Erdoğan and Macron addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and France, the Ukraine-Russia war, Israel's attacks on Palestine, as well as other regional and global issues.

President Erdoğan emphasised the importance of strengthening Türkiye-France relations across all fields. He highlighted the necessity of revitalising Türkiye’s EU accession process and expressed Türkiye’s expectation for support in this regard.

President Erdoğan also noted that encouraging Israel towards a ceasefire by Western countries would contribute to regional and global peace and suggested that France taking concrete steps in this direction would be beneficial.

"Positive trend in relations should continue increasingly"

President Erdoğan stated in his meeting with Prime Minister Starmer of the United Kingdom that in the new period, Türkiye and the UK can take new steps to improve relations in all areas, adding that they wish the positive trend in relations to continue increasingly
During the meeting, which addressed bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues, President Erdoğan once again congratulated Starmer on his new position.

"Israel should be pressured for a ceasefire"

President Erdoğan stated during his meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany that it is necessary to pressure Israel into ending its attacks on Gaza and not to waste the ceasefire prospect, pointing out the necessity of enhancing efforts to prevent the conflicts from spreading to the region.

President Erdoğan also expressed that Germany is expected to support the revitalization of Türkiye's EU accession process.

"Türkiye is ready for any initiative, including mediation"

The meeting between President Erdoğan and President Zelenskyy of Ukraine addressed the course of the Ukraine-Russia war as well as regional and global issues.

Stating that Türkiye continues to exert its efforts in order to end the Ukraine-Russia war with a just peace, President Erdoğan added that efforts to revive the Black Sea Grain Initiative have begun. President Erdoğan also stated that Türkiye is ready for any initiative, including mediation, to lay the groundwork for peace.

"Relations between Türkiye and Italy will progress further"

President Erdoğan stated during his meeting with President Meloni of the Council of Ministers of Italy that the two countries' relations will progress further through upcoming actions and that they will continue to work on it.

President Erdoğan also noted that Türkiye is exerting every possible endeavour to end regional conflicts peacefully and that each country must make an effort in this respect.

"Endeavours for good neighbourly relations with Greece will continue"

During his meeting with Prime Minister Mitsotakis of Greece, President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye maintains its efforts to promote the spirit of solidarity with Greece based on good neighbourly relations and that these endeavours will grow further.

President Erdoğan also noted that intensifying positive actions to put an end to the conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine is necessary and that it would benefit all countries in the region to work to ensure peace prevails in these geographies.

"Türkiye will continue its peaceful efforts"

During the meeting between President Erdoğan and Prime Minister Orban of Hungary, bilateral relations between Türkiye and Hungary, Türkiye’s EU accession process, as well as regional and global issues were discussed.

President Erdoğan stated during the meeting that Türkiye continues its peaceful efforts to end the Ukraine-Russia war and Israel's attacks on Gaza, and that the international community should increase its efforts to ensure peace in these regions.

President Erdoğan also added that Türkiye expects support for revitalising the European Union accession process and advancing relations during Hungary's term presidency.
