President Erdoğan calls the father of the deceased young Syrian man to extend his condolences

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with and extended his condolences to Adnan Hamdan al-Asani, the father of Syrian Ali Hamdan al-Asani, who was accidentally shot dead at a police checkpoint in Adana as a result of a warning shot fired after he disobeyed the stop warning and ran.

During the phone conversation, President Erdoğan expressed his wish for Allah’s mercy to be upon the deceased Ali Hamdan al-Asani and extended his condolences to his family.

Erdoğan expressed that he was deeply saddened by the tragic incident, and noted that the judicial process regarding the incident was underway and he would follow up the process thoroughly.

President Erdoğan said, “Ali is our child, too. Rest assured that we will respect and observe his rights.”

Extending his greetings and love to the people of Syria, Erdoğan noted that the terrorist who masterminded the bloody attack perpetrated by the terrorist organization PKK/YPG in Afrin the previous day had been captured.

“Syria and Turkey are brothers, we are one”

Adnan Hamdan al-Asani expressed his gratitude to President Erdoğan and stated the following:

“We are brothers. We take great pride in the President of the Republic of Turkey, as well as in its government and people. Mr. President, Ali is your child, too. I wish his rights may be under your guardianship. We will proceed as you wish and decide. Mr. President, I am proud of you. I kindly ask you to ensure Ali’s rights are not infringed. I am proud of your government and your state. Mr. Ömer Çelik telephoned me. I extend my endless gratitude to everybody and my endless regards to you. Mr. President, I am at your disposal and service for all your orders and instructions. Your word is my order. I, on behalf of my Syrian people here, would like to reiterate that we are proud of Tayyip Erdoğan, your government and your state. Syria and Turkey are brothers, we are one.”
