President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to attend the Extraordinary Meeting on Palestine.
President Erdoğan was welcomed with a ceremony upon his arrival at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
After greeting the ceremonial squad, President Erdoğan conversed with President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine for a while during his entrance to the Assembly. President Erdoğan posed for a photo with President Abbas and Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
President Erdoğan then proceeded to the Plenary Hall of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to observe Abbas' address.

In his address to the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, President Abbas of Palestine expressed his appreciation for Türkiye's stance under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in defence of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Expressing his appreciation for the humanitarian aid sent by Türkiye, the Palestinian leader said, "I would like to thank Türkiye for sending tens of thousands of tonnes of humanitarian aid to our people in Gaza."
Emphasising that the resistance of the Palestinians would continue, Abbas said:
"We will maintain our steadfast stance and will not leave our lands. Our people will expel the encroachers there (Palestine) at any cost."
"We will go to Gaza"
President Abbas of Palestine also spoke about his decision to go to Gaza, saying, "We have run out of solutions, so I and all the members of the Palestinian leadership have decided to go to Gaza, and we will do it."
Recalling the thousands of children killed in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, Abbas said, "I will go to Gaza. Our lives are not more valuable than the lives of children in Gaza."
During his 46-minute speech at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Palestinian leader Abbas received a standing ovation from President Erdoğan, MPs, and guests.

President Erdoğan held a meeting with President Abbas of Palestine and Speaker Kurtulmuş of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye after the Extraordinary Meeting of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, deputy speakers, group deputy chairpersons, and MPs also attended the meeting.
President Erdoğan did not let go of Abbas' hand until he left the Parliament to head towards his car.
Exhibition on Palestine in the Hall of Honour
On the other hand, an exhibition of photographs taken during the visits to Türkiye of Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran, Iran, was held in the Hall of Honour of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
The exhibition also featured declarations of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye on Palestine and documents from the Ottoman archives on Palestine.
