Speaking at the 10th World Turkish Business Council, President Erdoğan said: “The Turkic world, with its magnificent civilizational background open to innovation and development, with its powerful statecraft, with its strong social structure and with its visionary nongovernmental organizations, is indeed having a new awakening, a new leap forward.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech during the 10th World Turkish Business Council at Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul.
Underscoring that the number of the people of Turkish origin living, working, or studying in other countries has reached 8 million, President Erdoğan said: “We should include such member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States as Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Turkmenistan and Hungary in this number. The picture before us, thus, will become much more meaningful.”
“THE TURKIC WORLD IS INDEED HAVING A NEW AWAKENING”
Noting that they cannot leave aside such friendly communities as the Western Thrace, the Balkans and the Caucasus as well as the Islamic world and their diaspora from this picture, President Erdoğan stated: “It is not merely us who know the magnitude of this power represented here with all their motherlands and diasporas. Those who see this picture as a threat to their own interests are aware of this fact as well. The Turkic world, with its magnificent civilizational background open to innovation and development, with its powerful statecraft, with its strong social structure and with its visionary nongovernmental organizations, is indeed having a new awakening, a new leap forward.”
“WE SHOULD WORK HARDER AND ESTABLISH MUCH MORE EFFICIENT MECHANISMS”
Drawing attention to the recent developments in the area of communication, President Erdoğan said that the strengthening of the ties between the motherland and the diaspora is today easier than it was in the past, and went on to say: “To be honest, it is a fact that neither Türkiye nor our other friends individually use efficiently enough their power in the diaspora, let alone uniting them. We see again and again in every incident we experience that diasporas, which are actually weaker than ours in quantitative, economic and social terms, are much stronger than us in political terms. Therefore, we should work much harder, be in much closer cooperation and establish much more efficient mechanisms.”
“THE PROBLEMS IN THE TURKISH ECONOMY ARE BEING LEFT BEHIND”
Stressing that the problems experienced in the Turkish economy due to the global economic fluctuations are being left behind step by step, President Erdoğan continued as follows: “The progress we have made in further growing our country through investment, employment, production, exportation and current account surplus is also a new breath for our business world both at home and abroad. Even the most ferocious enemies of Türkiye are not able to ignore our country. They do not succeed in their efforts aimed at gathering dark clouds over our economy.”
