President Erdoğan in the U.S.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has arrived in New York to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly and hold several meetings.

President Erdoğan was welcomed at John F. Kennedy International Airport by Türkiye’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ahmet Yıldız, Türkiye’s Ambassador to the U.S. Sedat Önal and Türkiye’s Consul General in New York Muhittin Ahmet Yazal.

First Lady Emine Erdoğan, Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler are accompanying President Erdoğan in the U.S.

Asked about his meeting with President Donald Trump of the U.S. on his way to the Turkish House, President Erdoğan said: “We have bilateral talks that we will hold regarding Mr. Al-Sharaa. We have talks that we will hold with Mr. Trump on this. Because it concerns the region. To us, every step to be taken in the Middle East is vital. Obviously, we should discuss all this with Mr. Trump, it is very important.”
