President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered journalists’ questions upon arriving at the Türkevi Centre (Turkish House) after the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) meeting on Iran, attended by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Asked by a reporter whether a solution to the turmoil in the Gulf was in sight, President Erdoğan said: “That is what we are working towards. Through these efforts, we aim to overcome the difficulties in the Gulf as soon as possible.”
President Erdoğan said they hoped to see the fruits of these efforts soon.
In response to another reporter who said, “President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran is coming. There is a possibility that he may meet with Trump. It seems there may be a glimmer of hope. Will you meet with him?” President Erdoğan answered: “I don’t know yet what is on the programme at the moment. My colleagues will let me know.”
