Addressing the fifth annual Strategic Communication Summit (STRATCOM) via video message, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated, "As Türkiye, we will continue with determination to mobilise all our means to help rebuild peace and security throughout the world."
Expressing his pleasure in welcoming participants to İstanbul for the Summit, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed guests from Türkiye and around the world: “I warmly welcome you all to İstanbul—the meeting point of continents, cultures, and hearts,” and voiced his hope that the important Summit, convened under the theme ‘Disruption in the International System: Crises, Narratives, and the Search for Order,’ would yield auspicious outcomes.
Wishing success to the panels and sessions over the next two days—covering a wide spectrum from leader-to-leader diplomacy to digital transformation, conflict resolution to global climate governance, and migration and social policies to crisis management—President Erdoğan expressed his hope that they would yield meaningful outcomes for all humanity and thanked participants for their valuable contributions through their ideas, insights, proposals, and assessments.
"We are going through a challenging period marked by escalating genocides, wars, and crises"
Congratulating the Directorate of Communications for successfully organising the event, whose scope, content, and impact continue to grow each year, President Erdoğan said, "The international system established by the victors of the Second World War is today facing a serious legitimacy crisis across almost every field. The institutions, rules, and values that form its foundation are gradually losing their effectiveness. We are going through a challenging period in which power competition is expanding into areas such as energy, technology, and trade; where conflicts are addressed through weapons rather than dialogue; and where genocides, wars, and crises are escalating. Ending the tragedies that deeply affect us all, as in Gaza, and restoring peace, stability, and security—first in our region and across the world—has become more important than ever."
President Erdoğan continued his address, noting:
"At a time when the truth is clear for all to see, we must further strengthen communication and cooperation in order to counter new and misleading narratives designed to distort reality. In this regard, alongside states and governments, it is essential that international actors—from academia to civil society and think tanks—take greater initiative and assume a more active role. As Türkiye, we will continue with determination to uphold our principled, resolute, and peace-oriented stance, which places human values and justice at its core, and to mobilise all our means to help rebuild peace and security not only in our region but throughout the world."
