Presidency's Head of Communications Fahrettin Altun shared a video post on his social media account and congratulated the "May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day".
In his post, Head of Communications Altun said:
"May 19, 1919, is the day when our nation once again inscribed its determination for independence and a bright future on the stage of history. The torch of independence ignited in Samsun became a blessed beginning when the passion for independence and love for the homeland rose up as a resistance against enemy occupation.
May 19 stands as a call to keep the will that will carry our nation into the future forever alive.
To ensure that this profound consciousness lives on through generations, this meaningful day has been entrusted to the youth and has become a symbol of responsibility and awareness for future generations.
Today, under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we have full faith that our youth will carry this blessed journey even further with knowledge, wisdom, virtue, and dedication, guided by the vision of the Century of Türkiye.
Indeed, our youth, who have achieved remarkable successes in every field, are this nation’s greatest asset and its strongest guarantee for the future. With the strength of its youth, Türkiye will rise and remain a powerful global voice for justice, compassion, and equity.
On this meaningful occasion, I respectfully commemorate Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Commander-in-Chief of our War of Independence; his comrades-in-arms and our beloved martyrs with mercy; and our veterans with gratitude. I wholeheartedly congratulate all our youth and our nation on May 19, the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.”
