On July 15, 2016, Turkey experienced one of the longest and toughest night and entered into a new day with an epic of liberation. Our heroic nation performed a dignified resistance and unprecedented courage against the treacherous coup attempt by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), which took place before the eyes of the world, and showed the whole world how to cope with anti-democratic interventions. Those who lost their lives for their homeland are now noble heroes. The rest are going to tell this heroism from generation to generation, as they have conveyed dozens from our glorious history…
In the third year of this democratic victory achieved by all out resistance across the country, Presidency’s Directorate of Communications will organize 15 July-themed Short Film and Screenplay Contest to keep alive our social memory regarding the coup attempt.
The aim of the competition is to contribute to the development of national consciousness, to produce qualified content related to July 15 and to strengthen the awareness of democracy.
Applications will be received until July 12, 2019 within the scope of the project, films will compete in the categories of fiction film, documentary, animation, virtual reality and experimental films produced in 2019. In the scenario, all original screenplays with the theme of July 15 will be accepted.
Competitors will be able to submit their projects digitally on yarisma.15temmuz.gov.tr. Following the application process, the projects will be evaluated by the jury members to be determined by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications.
As a result of the evaluation of the films and scripts that participate in "July 15, Short Film and Screenplay Contest", a total of four awards will be given in two categories including “Best Short Film" and “Best Screenplay”.

Prof. Altun: “We will not forget the honorable resistance of our nation”
On his Twitter account, Presidency’s Director of Communications Prof. Fahrettin Altun shared a post oncerning “July 15, Short Film and Screenplay Contest" organized by Presidency’s Directorate of Communications in the third year of the July 15 treacherous coup attempt.
