Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun stated that the Directorate will organise a panel titled "Rebuilding Trust and Inspiring Hope in the post-COVID-19 Era: Türkiye's Perspective on the International Order" ahead of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly at UN Plaza.
Director of Communications Altun said, “As part of our active public diplomacy around the world that we pursue day and night in the service of our nation under the leadership of our President, we will hold a panel in New York, USA. The panel will address how the UN can become more democratic, efficient, accountable, transparent, fair, and human-oriented in a changing world order, as well as recent developments in Afghanistan and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's concrete reform proposals for the UN.”
The panel titled "Rebuilding Trust and Inspiring Hope in the post-COVID-19 Era: Türkiye's Perspective on the International Order" is critical as it will take place ahead of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Representatives from politics, academia, think tanks, media and non-governmental organisations are expected to attend the panel, which will take place at United Nations Plaza in New York.
Former Advisor at the U.S. Department of State Rich OUTZEN, and Research Director at the SETA Foundation at Washington DC Kılıç Buğra KANAT (PhD) will speak on the panel, which will be moderated by TRT World Managing Editor Ghida FAKHRY.
Concrete reform proposals regarding the UN in the book titled "A Fairer World is Possible", authored personally by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, are also expected to be debated at the panel.
