“#19May1919 is the day of those who shielded their chests against enemies, relying on nothing but the help of God and the nation, and those who changed the course of history with courage and faith.
We proudly celebrate the centenary of our National Struggle. It was the first step of the great march when Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk set off from İstanbul on May 16, 1919, and landed in Samsun on May 19.
I commemorate with mercy and gratitude all the heroes, who died for the independence and future of this country, and our great martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for this land and flag so far since #19May1919.
I believe that our youngsters, comprehending the deep meaning of #May19 which was dedicated for them, will always protect this heavenly land they were entrusted to by our ancestors and they will work with all their strength to take our country forward with the inspiration they take from the spirit of #May19.”
