Presidency’s Director of Communications Altun responds to Swedish Foreign Minister Linde

Director of Communications Altun: “Honesty is the best policy. You look us in the eye and keep lying. You keep supporting the terrorist organization PKK. If Sweden truly considers PKK a terrorist entity, it must do what is necessary.

Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun denounced the post Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde shared saying “Sweden was the first government to list PKK as a terrorist organization” by saying “This is disinformation in the name of combating disinformation.”

In a post on his Twitter account, Director of Communications Altun responded to a post shared by Swedish Foreign Minister Linde with the note “Due to the vastly spread disinformation about Sweden and PKK”.

Using the expression “This is disinformation in the name of combating disinformation,” Director of Communications Altun recalled that Sweden makes no effort to stop the PKK’s ongoing propaganda, fundraising and recruitment efforts.

Stating that Sweden has also been arming terrorists that carried out suicide bombings, among other attacks, in Türkiye, Director of Communications Altun remarked, “To add insult to injury, Sweden expressed solidarity with- and offered funding to YPG, PKK’s Syrian component, against Türkiye — the first NATO ally to deploy combat troops to Syria to fight terrorist groups, including DAESH. Honesty is the best policy. You look us in the eye and keep lying. You keep supporting the terrorist organization PKK. If Sweden truly considers PKK a terrorist entity, it must do what is necessary.”
