Altun shared a post on his Twitter account regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Russia.
Indicating that President Erdoğan would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the third time this year, Altun tweeted: “Our bilateral relations and cooperation on regional issues gradually improve in every field from economy to security thanks to interoperability initiative and good will.”
Noting that Turkey and Russia acted in line with the principle of respect for Syria’s territorial integrity and fight against terrorism, Altun continued as follows:
"We call on countries to stop supporting terrorist organizations that pose a threat against our country and the territorial integrity of Syria, and to contribute to the process. We consider our defence cooperation with Russia in a wide perspective ranging from military equipment supply to joint production opportunities. Defence industry constitutes an important dimension of bilateral relations and will remain that way."
