President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been conducting telephone diplomacy with world leaders in an effort to end the Israel-Palestine conflict and establish peace in the region.
During the previous day's telephone conversation between President Erdoğan and President Ebrahim Raisi of Iran, the two leaders discussed the Israel-Palestine conflict, the mounting tension in the region and the steps that should be taken for the resolution.
During the call, President Erdoğan emphasised that the immediate termination of the conflicts is important in the name of regional and global peace and that Türkiye exerts intensive efforts in order for humanitarian aid to be delivered to Gaza, adding that steps that would increase the tension must be avoided and that mutual positive steps can bring about lasting resolution to the Israel-Palestine issue.
During the telephone conversation with the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the United Kingdom, the current situation in the Israel-Palestine conflict, policies that should be followed in order to restore peace in the region and urgent measures for the resolution of the severe humanitarian crisis were discussed.
During the call, President Erdoğan stated that the international community, the Western countries in particular, should effectively object to the human rights violations in Gaza, and that it is important to remember and deliver the unfulfilled promises made to Palestine over the years instead of taking provocative steps that deepen the crisis.
During a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of Greece, the two sides exchanged views regarding the conflict between Israel and Palestine as well as numerous concerning developments, particularly the human rights violations in the region.
President Erdoğan assured Mitsotakis that Türkiye has been exerting all kinds of efforts for this conflict, which may lead to utterly negative consequences regionally and globally, to end and will continue to do so.
Noting that regional countries should endeavor to end the conflict and human rights violations as well as protecting the peace, and that they should give messages to the world to that effect, President Erdoğan said that it would be right to take steps that would reduce reaction rather than increase them as soon as possible.
"I call on all humanity to take action to stop this unprecedented atrocity in Gaza"
The conversation between President Erdoğan and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil addressed the conflicts that are becoming more and more violent between Israel and Palestine as well as steps aimed at ensuring calm.
During the discussion, President Erdoğan shared Türkiye's offers of solutions for lasting peace with his Brazilian counterpart, while stressing the importance of taking concrete steps regarding humanitarian aid within the framework of human rights and cautioning that no country should add fuel to the fire.
Following last night's Israeli attack on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, in which hundreds of people were killed, President Erdoğan shared a post on his social media account.
President Erdoğan remarked, "Striking a hospital where there are women, children, and innocent civilians is the latest example of Israel's attacks devoid of fundamental human values. I call on all humanity to take action to stop this unprecedented atrocity in Gaza."
