Pakistan thanks President Erdoğan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan expressed his gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for bringing the flood disaster in Pakistan to the 77th Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly's agenda.

In a statement released on Twitter, Prime Minister Sharif stated that President Erdoğan had highlighted the need for continued international assistance to help Pakistan deal with the disastrous floods during the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly and that he consistently supported the rights of the Kashmiris of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).

Prime Minister Sharif expressed his gratitude to President Erdoğan for bringing the flood disaster in Pakistan to the UN's agenda and for his consistent support for the rights of Kashmiris of IIOJK.

Yesterday, President Erdoğan addressed the attendees of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly in the UN General Assembly Hall.

President Erdoğan stated that they regret that a strong peace and cooperation between India and Pakistan has still not yet been established, despite 75 years following their independence, and said, "We hope that a just and lasting peace and tranquillity will be reached in Kashmir. We once again convey our recovery wishes to the Pakistani people, who are going through extremely difficult times due to the recent flood disaster."

Expressing that they continue their humanitarian aid work, which they have initiated following the disaster, without interruption, President Erdoğan said that they expect the international community to support the Pakistani people during this painful period that they are going through.
