“As a nation, we are having the joy of feeling once again the pride and enthusiasm of August 30 Victory Day, one of the milestones and golden pages in our history. This glorious day is one of the strongest embodiments of the unprecedented will, the unwavering faith and the heroism the Turkish nation displayed for independence and future.
The Great Victory, won through our heroic army’s patriotism and our nation’s collective determination, smashed the chains of slavery and cleared the path to independence. The foundations of our Republic were laid following this exceptional victory. The August 30 is not only a military victory but also a manifestation of our nation’s revival as well as its fight for existence and its eternal independence.
This is a such a great victory that it inspired hope not only for the Turkish nation but for other oppressed nations as well, becoming a symbol of the ideal of independence.
“Turkish nation never accepts slavery”
Once again through this victory, the Turkish nation showed the entire world that this nation can never be subjugated, never accepts slavery, or never compromises its independence. The meaning of the Great Victory is not only a glorious memory of our history, but also a guide acting as a source of light for us.
Today, our responsibility is to carry the independence torch lit on August 30 to a stronger future in unity and solidarity. In the Century of Türkiye, our primary duty is to make our homeland, entrusted to us through the blood and sacrifices of our ancestors, more powerful and more prosperous.
On this meaningful day, I remember our august martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland, first and foremost Ghazi Mustafa Kemal and his comrades-in-arms, with mercy, and commemorate our veterans with gratitude. I congratulate our august nation on the August 30 Victory Day with the most heartfelt feelings.”
