Speaking at AK Party’s Parliamentary Group Meeting, President Erdoğan said: “We have formed a fast and effective organization to meet the food and accommodation needs of our 14 million citizens, whose houses in our 11 provinces most affected by the quakes were either collapsed or became unusable, or who cannot stay in their houses due to the aftershocks. May our nation be blessed, they have displayed the solidarity of the century in the face of the disaster of the century.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the party’s group meeting at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT).
Recalling that Türkiye had woken up to the biggest disaster of its last century on February 6, President Erdoğan noted that the country had been caught in the quakes under harsh winter conditions, and said: “Despite all this, we as the state and the nation rushed to the earthquake zone once we received the reports of the disaster, overcoming the difficulties caused by the destruction and winter. Our ministers reached our quake-hit provinces after a few hours from the disaster, and started to coordinate the works. We supported the local capacity in the region with our governors and district governors from other provinces, and with the personnel of the units working on site.”

“PRE-ORDERS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR TOGG AS OF TOMORROW”
Stating that while healing the wounds of the earthquakes, they were making the Turkish nation achieve their dreams by realizing the vision projects one by one, President Erdoğan noted that pre-orders would be available for Türkiye’s automobile TOGG as of the following day.
Underscoring that the Extraordinary Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Organization of Turkic States would be held in Ankara on March 16, 2023, President Erdoğan continued as follows: “President of Finland is coming on Friday, and we will be in Çanakkale on Saturday. On Sunday, we will be inaugurating Bandırma Boron Carbide Production Plant, an important facility which will contribute to our country’s defense industry.”
FINLAND’S NATO MEMBERSHIP PROCESS
President Erdoğan answered reporters’ questions on his way out of the GNAT. Reminded about Finnish President Sauli Niinistö’s visit to Türkiye on Friday, March 17, President Erdoğan, as regards Finland’s NATO membership process, said: “We will maintain the process as is required. Let us all hope for the best. We will do what falls to us, and keep our promise. On Friday, we will meet with Mr. President and fulfill the promise we have made.”
