“Our army is at its strongest today”

Speaking at the National Defense University War Colleges Commencement and Flag Handover Ceremony, President Erdoğan said: “Praise be to Allah, our army is at its strongest today. The prestige of our National Defense University is growing year by year on a global scale. In the defense industry, we are capable of producing critical systems such as for land, air, sea and space through our own capabilities.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the National Defense University War Colleges Commencement and Flag Handover Ceremony.

Extending his get-well wishes to the Turkish nation and the Turkish Cypriot people due to the passenger ship that capsized while sailing from Girne to Taşucu, Mersin, President Erdoğan said that efforts to locate the missing passengers were continuing uninterrupted and that they hoped to receive positive news from the ongoing search and rescue operations.

President Erdoğan continued his remarks as follows: “Praise be to Allah, our army is at its strongest today.  The prestige of our National Defense University is growing year by year on a global scale. In the defense industry, we are capable of producing critical systems such as for land, air, sea and space through our own capabilities. Most recently, at TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland, which we held at our Gölcük Naval Shipyard from August 20 to 23, we once again proudly witnessed the technologies we have developed with our own capabilities. Today, the Secretariat of Defense Industries is simultaneously carrying out a total of 1,468 projects with a combined value exceeding $100 billion. In our defense industry, where we have increased the rate of domestically developed and produced systems to over 82%, we are, so to speak, now competing only with ourselves.”
