President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented the "Order of Friendship" to Vice President Fuat Oktay.
Before the Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of the Turkic States, during the meeting of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Mirziyoyev at the Presidential Complex, Vice President Oktay was presented with the Order of Friendship for his contributions to the development of relations between Türkiye and Uzbekistan. The decision to award this order was made in September of last year.
The decree, signed by Mirziyoyev, awarding Oktay the Order of Friendship was also read. The decree stated the following:
"Due to his great contributions to the development of relations in the political, diplomatic, commercial, economic, investment, educational, scientific and cultural-social fields, as well as his effective efforts on strengthening the bonds of friendship and solidarity between our peoples, and raising long-term and comprehensive relations to a new level, may the Vice President of Türkiye Fuat Oktay be awarded Order of Friendship. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev."
Later, Mirziyoyev presented Oktay with the Order of Friendship of Uzbekistan, as President Erdoğan and the delegation members applauded.
Oktay thanked the President of Uzbekistan for the order and stated that he was honored to receive it.
