President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will meet with the heads of delegations at the gala dinner at the Mecidiye Pavilion on October 21 on the margins of the conference.
The 12th Session of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will be held at Istanbul Conrad Hotel between October 21-22 under the theme "Combating Disinformation and Islamophobia in the Post-Truth Era."
The aim of the conference, hosted by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, is to expand and strengthen cooperation among Islamic nations in the sphere of media and communication.
The conference, which will be attended by ministers and high-level officials from 57 countries, will discuss the issues that will deepen cooperation in the Islamic world in media, communication, and information. During the conference, the representatives of the information institutions of OIC member states will seek ways to develop projects to combat disinformation and Islamophobia.
The Senior Officials Meeting will take place on the first day of the conference, which will also include discussions regarding the formation of the OIC Media Forum.
As part of the conference, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will meet with the heads of delegations and deliver a speech at the gala dinner at Mecidiye Pavilion on October 21.
Term presidency will be handed over to Türkiye
The ministerial session will be held on the second day of the conference. The representative of Saudi Arabia will hand over the rotating chairmanship of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers of OIC to Türkiye at the beginning of the ministerial session.
OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha will also deliver a speech during the conference's opening session, where Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun will offer the opening address.
The press conference to be organised by the Director of Communications Altun, and Taha, will announce the decisions made following the day-long technical sessions.
