The National Security Council (NSC) convened on july 30, 2025, under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex.
During the meeting;
1. The council has been briefed on the operations that have been carried out with determination, resolve, and success at home and abroad against all types of threats and dangers to our national unity and solidarity, as well as our survival, including the terrorist organisations PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETO, and DAESH, along with recent international developments.
2. The progress made towards achieving a terror-free Türkiye and future measures were discussed, with an emphasis on how the removal of terror shackles intended for our country will further strengthen the brotherhood of our nation, allowing us to advance towards our national goals with greater speed and stability.
3. The current stage in the fight against FETO and the course of action to be followed in the coming period were addressed, emphasising the resolute determination to completely eradicate the treacherous network and its final remnants.
4. The developments in Syria, along with the impacts of other events in our region, were thoroughly discussed, reaffirming the continued support for the Syrian government's efforts to ensure their country's unity, integrity, and stability.
Throughout this process, preventing attacks and occupations targeting Syria’s sovereignty, amid deliberate efforts to drag the country back into a spiral of violence and chaos, along with all forms of subversive, destructive, and separatist activities, has been underlined as a top priority.
5. The political and military consequences of the process initiated by the Israeli attack on Iran were evaluated, underlining the necessity of avoiding further tensions and conflicts in the Middle East, a region already affected by significant vulnerabilities.
The international community has been called upon to assume responsibility and act decisively to halt the Israeli government, which has launched attacks on Iran after Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen in violation of international law and intends to plunge the region into a disaster by perpetuating its genocide and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
6. Concerns were raised regarding the signs of escalation in the Russia–Ukraine war, and it was reiterated that Türkiye is prepared to take on responsibility and contribute in every possible manner to the establishment of lasting peace.
Respectfully submitted to the public.
