National Security Council Declaration dated October 3, 2024

National Security Council Declaration dated October 3, 2024

The National Security Council convened on October 3, 2024, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

During the meeting;

1. The Council has been briefed on the operations that have been carried out with determination, resolve, and success at home and abroad against all types of threats and dangers to our national unity and solidarity, as well as our survival, including the terrorist organisations PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETO, and DAESH, along with recent international developments.

2. It has been underlined that the activities to neutralise terrorist organisations nesting in Syrian territory will continue unabated, and any scheme or fait accompli attempt that jeopardises our national security will not be allowed; and it has been stated that efforts would be intensified to end the conflict in the country, aligning with the interests and expectations of our region and the Syrian people.

3. Our resolve to further our cooperation with our neighbour Iraq in the fight against terrorist organisations, particularly PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, which represent a common threat to our nations, has been reaffirmed, and the importance we place on the security, peace, and welfare of the brotherly Iraqi people has been underscored anew.

4. It has been noted that Türkiye's resolute endeavours, along with international efforts, to halt the genocide inflicted upon the Palestinian people for a year in full view of the world and to establish an immediate and lasting ceasefire and peace in Palestine should be intensified and maintained.

The actors holding positions of responsibility, particularly the United Nations Security Council, have been urged to take immediate action to halt Israel's attacks beyond the Palestinian territories in an effort to escalate the conflict across the Middle East.

It has been confirmed that Türkiye, along with its nation and state, will stand by the brotherly Lebanese people and government against Israel's inhumane attacks.

Israel's declaration of the United Nations Secretary-General as persona non grata and barring him from entering the country has been denounced as the latest instance of its disregard for the law.

5. It has been noted that Türkiye would not allow the exploitation of its earnest stance and efforts to forge cooperative grounds through the establishment of lasting stability and peace in the Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea, and it has been emphasised that acting with common sense would be the best course of action.

Respectfully submitted to the public's attention.
