In his new year message on social media, Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun remarked that while we are putting 2023 behind by sharing it together, we are enjoying the thrill of walking into a new year with hope and excitement.
Reiterating that the earthquakes, which were described as "heart-wrenching" and "the disaster of the century," occurred on February 6, Altun used the following expressions:
"Unfortunately, we witnessed the massacre of tens of thousands of innocent civilians in Palestine before the eyes of the entire world. I pray for Allah's mercy on our citizens who perished for various causes and in the course of natural disasters, on our brothers and sisters who lost their lives in wars, and on our heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defence of the nation's peace and security, as well as the indivisible integrity of our homeland.
I sincerely wish all of our citizens a Happy New Year and hope that the coming year brings peace, calm, and prosperity to our nation and all of humanity."

Director of Communications Altun also shared a post on the Red Apple on his social media account. Director of Communications Altun included the Red Apple video prepared by our Directorate in his post, and stated:
"With the aspiration of attaining the Red Apple, we will continue to march persistently and enthusiasticly, all the while striving for the Century of Türkiye on behalf of our nation in 2024.”
