President Erdoğan announced that the "National Space Program Strategy Document" for the years 2022-2030 was prepared by the Turkish Space Agency to coordinate Türkiye's vision, strategy, goals and projects in the field of space policies in an integrated manner.
Regarding the National Space Program Strategy Document published in the Official Gazette, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that the space sector is advancing rapidly and becoming an area that affects the lives of all people and generates value.
President Erdoğan drew attention to the importance of securing independence in access to and use of space, fostering space ecosystem, strengthening opportunities for the use of space for the benefit of the community, claiming an ever-increasing share in the global space market, developing cooperation opportunities that support the use of space for peaceful purposes, and highlighted the great significance of implementing an effective, safe and sustainable space strategy for Türkiye.
President Erdoğan indicated that space efforts, which concentrate on launch, remote sensing satellites, satellite-based positioning and timing systems, space sciences, exploration and manned space missions, communications satellites, and space security, contribute to national technology and economy by providing productivity and employment not only in the space sector but in all sectors impacted.
President Erdoğan indicated that the space policies of the states are shaped by the space programs developed by the agencies for this contribution to be more systematic and planned, and continued:
"In this context, considering the developments in the world, National Space Program and Strategy Document for 2022-2030 was prepared by the Turkish Space Agency to serve as a roadmap for our country's space efforts, accelerate current efforts and carry them forward, with the aim of coordinating our country's vision, strategy, goals and projects in the field of space policies in an integrated manner, in accordance with Article 4, paragraph one and subparagraph (a) of the Presidential Decree No. 23 on Turkish Space Agency and 11th Development Plan (2019-2023), and it will be released on the official website of the Agency (www.tua.gov.tr). I request that all kinds of support and assistance that will be needed in the efforts to be exerted as part of the National Space Program Strategy Document (2022-2030) be provided delicately by the relevant institutions and organizations."
