National and international media members visit houses built after earthquake in Adıyaman

A visit to the earthquake zone in Adıyaman was coordinated by the Directorate of Communications, which included 45 members of the national and international press.

Governor of Adıyaman Osman Varol briefed 45 press members, 33 foreign and 12 Turkish, about the ongoing work in the city at the Governorate Meeting Hall. Stating that Adıyaman was severely damaged during the earthquakes, Governor Varol went on to say:

"We lost 8,387 citizens in Adıyaman, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish Allah's mercy upon them. Upon examining the building stock in our province, we find that there are 115,067 total buildings, with 269,116 separate buildings included within these buildings. In the earthquakes, 33,112 buildings in the city were identified as 'collapsed', 'to be demolished immediately', 'heavily damaged', and 'moderately damaged'."

Members of the press then toured the TOKİ residences and show flat in Örenli.

Italian press member Giuseppe Didonna stated to the AA correspondent that they toured the permanent residences that were built quickly. Didonna stated that Malatya and Adıyaman were severely damaged in the earthquakes and said:

''I hope everyone will return to their normal lives as soon as possible. The construction work progressed rapidly. There were only the foundations of the buildings when I previously visited the Indere region earlier in September. I am now surprised to see that the construction of the buildings is progressing very rapidly. Congratulations to all involved. Every piece of equipment is available to meet the residents' needs inside the flats. We also visited the village houses. Everything is ready for the people, and it's beautiful. People here have suffered a lot; I hope they will settle in their homes as soon as possible."
