“Minimum wage will be TL 4,250 in 2022”

Delivering remarks on the 2022 minimum wage, President Erdoğan said: “The net minimum monthly wage will be 4,250 Turkish liras in 2022. This number further rises depending on the employee’s marital status and number of children.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference with representatives of employees and employers at the Presidential Complex on the new minimum wage.

“WE SHOWED OUR DETERMINATION NOT TO ALLOW OUR EMPLOYEES TO BE CRUSHED BY THE PRICE RISES”

“The net minimum monthly wage will be 4,250 Turkish liras in 2022. This number further rises depending on the employee’s marital status and number of children. The increase in the minimum wage is around 50%, and that is the highest raise in the last 50 years. May the new minimum wage be auspicious for our employees, employers and for our country! With this raise, which demonstrates that Türkiye is a democratic and social state of law as is stated in the Constitution of the Republic of Türkiye, I believe we have shown our determination not to allow our employees to be crushed by the price rises. Surely, our employees deserve much more in this difficult period our country is going through,” President Erdoğan said.

“We will continue to take the necessary steps to speed up Türkiye’s investment, employment, production and exportation-oriented growth. I believe, with the new measures we will put into action in the coming days, we will make great progress towards strengthening the climate of stability and confidence,” President Erdoğan noted.
