President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message commemorating the 103rd anniversary of İstanbul’s liberation from enemy occupation on 6 October.
In a post on social media, President Erdoğan noted the following:
“On the 103rd anniversary of the liberation of our beloved İstanbul from enemy occupation, I commemorate with mercy all our heroes, especially Ghazi Mustafa Kemal, who led our National Struggle to victory.
On this proud occasion, I extend my greetings and affection to my brothers and sisters in İstanbul.”
Furthermore, the Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, issued a message marking the 103rd anniversary of İstanbul’s liberation from enemy occupation.
In his message shared on his NSosyal account, Head of Communications Duran stated:
“İstanbul, the jewel of our country, owing to its history, culture, and unique heritage, stands as one of the most treasured values of our nation. The liberation of this cherished city from occupation marked one of the most significant milestones in our struggle for independence.
“On the 103rd anniversary of İstanbul’s liberation from enemy occupation, I commemorate with mercy all the heroes of our National Struggle, foremost among them Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and our cherished martyrs, and remember our veterans with gratitude and appreciation.”
