The Presidency’s Head of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, shared a post on his social media account regarding "March 12 Adoption of the Turkish National Anthem and Mehmet Akif Ersoy Commemoration Day."
In his statement, Head of Communications Altun expressed the following:
"The Turkish National Anthem is not merely a poem; it is the resounding cry of a nation once condemned to despair, rising again through faith, perseverance, and sacrifice. This sacred anthem is the most beautiful manifestation of our nation's unity, solidarity, and love for the homeland. This immortal work is also a manifesto that signifies we will never compromise in the face of captivity, and that we will make every sacrifice for our freedom and independence.
On the 104th anniversary of the adoption of our National Anthem, I commemorate with mercy and gratitude the late Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who so eloquently captured the honour, dignity, and struggle for independence of the Turkish nation, as well as all our heroes who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our homeland.
May Allah preserve our homeland, our flag, and the unity of our nation forever."
