Mawlid for July 15 martyrs at Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque

A mawlid was held at the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque for the martyrs who lost their lives in the coup attempt by the Fetullah Terrorist Organisation (FETO).

The prayers of the hatims (complete recital of the Qur'an) were made for the martyrs prior to Friday prayer as part of the event organised by the Governorship of Istanbul and coordinated by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications.

At the end of the event, which included the recitations of the Mawlid an-Nabi al-Sharif and eulogies, Turkish delight and water were distributed to the citizens by the Fatih Municipality.

Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, Commander of the First Army Lieutenant General Kemal Yeni, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Yusuf Kenan Topcu, Istanbul Provincial Police Chief Zafer Aktaş, Coast Guard Marmara and Turkish Straits Regional Commander Rear Admiral (LH) Tayfun Paşaoğlu, Deputy Governor Mehmet Fatih Çiçekli, families of some martyrs, veterans, and citizens attended the event.
