President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed citizens at the party’s rally in Mardin.
Expressing his happiness to be in Mardin, a city that teaches brotherhood to the world and is the home of countless beauties, President Erdoğan said: “Mardin is by no means an ordinary city or an ordinary municipality. It is a unique city in the world in terms of its locals, culture, architecture and history as well as the peaceful coexistence of various religions. Mardin has been embellishing our geography as a source of pride for centuries.”
“WE HAVE ENTERED RAMADAN WITH A HEAVY HEART DUE TO THE CONFLICTS AROUND US”
Voicing his wish for the holy month of Ramadan to lead to auspicious developments, President Erdoğan said: “We, however, have entered Ramadan with a heavy heart due to the conflicts around us, particularly in Gaza. Sufferings, tragedies and instabilities unfortunately prevail across our kindred geography. Our neighbor Syria has been devoid of peace and tranquility for exactly 13 years. In Iraq, another neighbor of ours, racial and sectarian tensions continue. The bloody war between Russia and Ukraine has entered its third year. In October, terror state Israel’s brutal attacks added to all these crises.”
Stressing that Türkiye is one of the countries that have provided Palestine the biggest support and reacted to Israel the most harshly since the very beginning, President Erdoğan stated: “We have dispatched over 40 thousand tons of humanitarian aid to the region by ships and planes. To date, we have transferred over 900 cancer patients and wounded people along with their families to Türkiye for treatment. In other words, we are doing whatever is necessary in the domain of assistance and diplomacy.”
