President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan released a message on March 18, Martyrs' Day and the 110th Anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory.
In his message, President Erdoğan said, "As a nation, we commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory with great pride and enthusiasm, and remember with mercy and gratitude our heroes who made Çanakkale impassable." He also stated that this remarkable epic, seldom witnessed in history, where determination and faith triumph over technology, was the work of hundreds of thousands of heroes who risked their lives without hesitation for the survival of their honourable homeland and nation.
Noting that the nation, including men, women, young and old, students, teachers, employees and employers, united as one and did not allow the enemy to pass, President Erdoğan emphasised that the Turkish nation emerged as a beacon of hope for all oppressed people through this struggle, inspiring many colonised nations to embark on their own struggles, following the examples set by Çanakkale and then the National War of Independence.
President Erdoğan stated the following in his message:

We wish mercy on every one of the brave people who came from all over our kindred geography and sacrificed their lives in defence of Anatolia. The lessons drawn from the epic written in Çanakkale will inspire us to build the Century of Türkiye. The spirit of Çanakkale proves that we will not falter, even if the whole world turns against us, as long as we uphold our unity, solidarity, and brotherhood. This spirit will persist in guiding our way forward. On March 18, Martyrs' Day, I commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, remembering all our martyrs and heroes, particularly Ghazi Mustafa Kemal, with deep respect and gratitude. May their souls rest eternally in heaven and in peace."
