President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan conferred the Order of the Republic on Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia, who is paying an official visit to Türkiye.
Expressing his happiness to host Prime Minister Ibrahim and his delegation in Türkiye, President Erdoğan underlined that the bond of friendship and brotherhood between Türkiye and Malaysia is based on their long-standing history as well as their shared culture and values.
“Drawing strength from this deep-rooted foundation, we are further consolidating solidarity between our countries day by day. We are crowning our cooperation with concrete steps and projects,” President Erdoğan said.
Describing their talks today as a new threshold, President Erdoğan said: “We held the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, which we decided on during my visit to Kuala Lumpur last year. Inshallah, we will continue to deepen and diversify our comprehensive strategic partnership relations within this institutional framework in the coming period.”
“It is particularly important to mention the efforts of Mr. Anwar Ibrahim. I would also like to take this opportunity to emphasize the constructive role played by my dear brother in resolving the tension between Cambodia and Thailand. Furthermore, we see that his interest in Turkish culture and history has made significant contributions to the development of the exemplary cooperation between our countries. It is with great pleasure that I present the Order of the Republic to you in recognition of your contributions to the development of friendly relations between Türkiye and Malaysia. I am confident that you will proudly carry our Order of the Republic as a powerful symbol of the eternal and unshakable brotherhood between our nations. I would like to take this occasion to reiterate my best wishes for the happiness and prosperity of the friendly and brotherly people of Malaysia on behalf of myself and my nation,” President Erdoğan said.
