Launch of book authored by Director of Communications Altun and translated into Azerbaijani Turkish

The Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun's book "Türkiye as a Stabilizing Power in an Age of Turmoil" was launched in Azerbaijan.

Türkiye’s Ambassador to Baku Cahit Bağcı, Chairman of AIR Centre Farid Shafiyev, academics and experts attended the event.

The video message of the Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun was displayed at the event, which began with a minute of silence to commemorate the Azerbaijani soldiers who were martyred as a result of the Armenian attacks.

Ambassador Bağcı noted in his remarks at the ceremony that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statement "The world is bigger than 5" was discussed and analysed in a broader framework in Altun's book.

Bağcı noted that the global system is far from providing peace, security and justice and lacks the power to stop new problems, let alone solve existing ones.

Noting Russia's attack on Ukraine, the developments in Libya, Syria, and Kashmir, as well as the inability to implement United Nations Security Council (UNSC) decisions regarding the occupation of Karabakh, Bağcı stated that the global system's mechanisms were incapable of producing a solution.

Bağcı discussed Türkiye's mediation efforts during the Ukraine crisis as well as international aid during the pandemic, emphasizing that Türkiye has become a strong country and that the strong have control over the table.

Bağcı stated that Islamophobia is one of the problems at the global level and added, "There is a need for an international system and reform that can address all of these issues. The book by the Director of Communications Altun emphasizes this issue. Türkiye will keep expressing it."

Chairman of AIR Centre Shafiyev said that Turkish foreign policy has undergone a significant transformation over the past 20 years, and Türkiye pursues an independent foreign policy.

Shafiyev noted that strong countries, especially some of the UN Security Council Members, are campaigning against Turkish foreign policy.

Shafiyev stressed the importance of publishing the book "Türkiye as a Stabilizing Power in an Age of Turmoil" in Azerbaijan as well.

Dr. Cavid Veliyev, the book's translator, noted that the book closely analysed the brotherly country Türkiye's perspective of the world order.

Veliyev added that the book explains Turkish foreign policy and that Türkiye and Azerbaijan coordinate their foreign policies; thus, the book is also of importance to the Azerbaijani public.
