The July 15 Democracy and National Unity Train, which will run between Ankara-Istanbul and Ankara-Konya for two months, departed Ankara for its first journey.
During a ceremony at Ankara High-Speed Train Station, TCDD Transport Inc. Deputy Director General Şinasi Kazancıoğlu stated that the state and nation's reflexes prevented the treacherous coup attempt on July 15 and delivered the necessary message to the world.
"We are here today to tell them that we will never forget what happened, and we will not let them forget," Kazancıoğlu said. He also stated that the high-speed train, themed "Victory of the Nation," will travel 56 thousand kilometres and carry 60 thousand passengers on the Ankara-İstanbul and Ankara-Konya lines for two months.
The 411-passenger train, decorated with the theme "Victory of the Nation" for the July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day celebrations, was completely full on its inaugural run.
