The document shared on some social media accounts, claiming to be a "statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye" is fake.
It has been discovered that a false statement has been circulated impersonating the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye with the title "February 21, 2024, Framework Agreement for Defence and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Türkiye and the Federal Republic of Somalia."
While the latest statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is numbered 33, the alleged document appears to be numbered 34.
In addition, the alleged "statement of the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Türkiye" in the posts is completely unfounded.
The statement in the fabricated document bearing the logo and colours of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs and shared on social media does not belong to our Ministry of Foreign Affairs or our Ministry of National Defence.
Manipulative disinformation efforts carried out by impersonating official institutions should not be given credit.
