President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Naval War College Commencement and Flag Handover Ceremony in Istanbul.
Congratulating the 454 Turkish and 12 guest students who graduated from the Naval War College, President Erdoğan thanked all the professors and commanders who contributed to the training of the graduates with their knowledge and experience.
“TÜRKİYE IS A BEACON OF STABILITY IN ITS REGION”
Stating that Türkiye is a shining star as a beacon of stability in a region full of wars and tensions, President Erdoğan said: “We have the Istanbul and Çanakkale Straits, two of the most strategic waterways in the world. With the outbreak of clashes between Russia and Ukraine, the eyes of all mankind have turned to the Black Sea. In addition to its critical role in global trade, the Mediterranean also stands out with its energy resources.”
Pointing out that the region, which was the theatre of competition between great powers a century ago, is the scene of the same struggles today as well, President Erdoğan said: “In an equation of increasing chaos and uncertainty, Türkiye has been making a name for itself with its military, diplomatic, economic and political moves.”
“The steps we have taken in the defense industry have instilled confidence in our nation and struck fear into the hearts of our foes. Everyone already recognizes our superiority in armed and unarmed unmanned aerial vehicles. In warship technology, we are one of the 10 countries that can design, develop, build and maintain their own ships. With TCG ANADOLU, the flagship of our Navy, which we commissioned in April, we have risen to a new league in this field. We now have a UCAV ship on which our BAYRAKTAR TB-3 UCAV, KIZILELMA and HÜRJET light attack aircraft can land and take off. Thanks to TCG ANADOLU, we will be able to easily deploy a battalion-sized force to crisis zones in the Aegean, Mediterranean and Black Sea without the need for main base support,” President Erdoğan said.
“We not only make games, but also break the ones against us when necessary,” President Erdoğan said. "We have demonstrated many times in recent years that this is not just a rhetoric, but the reality itself. When our country was wanted to be surrounded by a terror corridor, despite all the threats and pressures, we have thwarted the ambitions for a terrorist state with the military operations we conducted in the north of Syria.”
“By supporting the legitimate government of Libya, we both prevented the division of this country and guaranteed our rights in the Mediterranean. In the fight to liberate the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, we rushed to the aid of our brothers and sisters with all our means without a second thought. Thus, together with our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters, we ensured the liberation of Karabakh after nearly 30 years of oppression and occupation. Our stance in the face of aggressive actions against the Aegean is already known to all our interlocutors. We defend the rights of our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters in the Eastern Mediterranean to the end. From DAESH to PKK, from FETO to DHKPC, we do not give any quarter to any of the bloody murderers. Wherever terrorists are nesting, we first detect them and then destroy them one by one. While we frustrate all attempts against our national security, we are also making sincere efforts to establish peace and stability in our region. We will maintain the same honorable stance everywhere,” President Erdoğan underscored.
