The "Illa Hû Mevlevî Recitation" was organised by the Directorate of Communications and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to commemorate the 750th anniversary of Mevlânâ's passing.
The event was held in the CSO Ada Ankara Main Hall following the issuing of the circular declaring this year to be the "Year of Mevlânâ."
"Hüzzâm Mevlevî Âyin-i Şerifi" of Hammâmîzâde İsmail Dede Efendi was performed as part of the programme commemorating the 750th anniversary of Mevlânâ's passing, which was organised by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
At the event, whose art director was Associate Professor Tolga Oter, the whirling dervishes who took the stage saluted the red pelt symbolising Mevlânâ's station and gave a performance.
