Head of Communications Duran’s statement on Presidential High Advisory Board’s meeting

The Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, issued a written statement regarding the meeting of the Presidential High Advisory Board, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

In his statement, Head of Communications Duran said:

"The Presidential High Advisory Board convened under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex.

Attending the meeting were the board members İsmail Kahraman, Mehmet Ali Şahin, Cemil Çiçek, İsmet Yılmaz, Binali Yıldırım, Köksal Toptan, and Mustafa Şentop, as well as the Secretary-General of the Presidency, Hakkı Susmaz; the Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran; and the Chief of Cabinet to the President, Hasan Doğan.

The agenda of the Presidential High Advisory Board included recent developments in our region and around the world.

The meeting emphasised that the region is going through difficult times; that, following its attacks on Gaza and the West Bank, Israel has now resorted to provocations targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque; and that Israel is also seeking to prevent Syria from recovering.

It was stated at the meeting that the Joint Defence Agreement we signed in Mecca with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia demonstrates that we have strengthened our solidarity with brotherly countries and that we are managing the processes with prudence and composure without succumbing to provocations.

It was noted that Türkiye’s foreign policy initiatives are centred on regional peace and security."
