Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a post on his NSosyal account regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's upcoming visit to the US between 20 and 23 September 2026 to attend the General Debate of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
In his statement, Head of Communications Duran said:
"President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be visiting the US on 20–23 September 2026 to attend the General Debate of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, scheduled to be held in New York.
Our President will deliver his address on 22 September, the first day of the General Debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, to be held under the theme ‘Restoring trust, managing transformation: a United Nations that delivers for all '.
During the visit, our President will hold bilateral meetings with the UN Secretary-General as well as heads of state and government of various countries.
Our President is also expected to attend a number of events with representatives of our citizens residing in the US, members of the Turkish-American business community and think-tank representatives."
