Head of Communications Duran’s message on anniversary of Hagia Sofia Grand Mosque’s reopening to worship

The Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a message on his NSosyal account on the sixth anniversary of the reopening of the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque for worship.

In the message, Head of Communications Duran said:

"On 24 July 2020, the first prayer was performed at the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque after 86 years. This centuries-old heritage regained its original status with the prayers and takbirs of our nation.

This historic step, taken under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, became one of the most powerful manifestations of our nation's determination to honour its history, civilisation, and waqf heritage.

On the anniversary of the reopening of the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque for worship, we beseech Almighty Allah that this sanctified mosque will forever abound with adhans, salahs, and worship until the Day of Judgement."
