The Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a message on his NSosyal account regarding this evening’s match between Konyaspor and the Palestine National Football Team.
In his message, Head of Communications Duran stated:
“This evening in Konya, there was much more than football on the pitch; our hearts were with Palestine.
The meaningful occasion that brought Konyaspor and the Palestine National Football Team together once again demonstrated the power of sport to transcend borders and unite people in a shared sense of solidarity. Humanity was the winner.
We were delighted to host the Palestinian footballers in our country. Sharing their excitement and coming together on the same pitch was, for us, not merely about a football match; it was also an expression of the hand of friendship we extend to the Palestinian people and our heartfelt solidarity with them.
Under the leadership of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we will continue to stand with Palestine, to keep the immense suffering in Gaza in our thoughts, and to support the Palestinian people in their just struggle.
I hope that the message of solidarity sent from Konya this evening reaches Gaza, Jerusalem and every corner of Palestine.”
