Head of Communications Duran: “We are working to build an infrastructure of truth against algorithmic pressure”

The Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a post on his NSosyal account regarding the panel he attended at TRT World Forum 2025 titled "Journalism on the Frontlines: From Battlefield Risks to Algorithmic Suppression."

In his post, Head of Communications Duran stated:

"I was delighted to participate in the panel 'Journalism on the Frontlines: From Battlefield Risks to Algorithmic Suppression' at TRT World Forum 2025.
War journalism is among the most fundamental pillars of public communication. Journalists who pursue the truth under the harshest conditions now struggle not only against bullets but also against algorithms. Today, truth itself is being targeted; a message on a screen can be as powerful—and as dangerous—as a weapon on the ground.
In the digital age, we face a new form of censorship: Algorithmic suppression. News that reveals the truth can be rendered invisible, and the voice of truth can be muted. We are working to build an infrastructure of truth to ensure algorithmic justice; we are decisively taking steps to strengthen media literacy and increase society’s resilience against disinformation.
As President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasises: 'No one can afford to ignore a problem anywhere in the world, abstain from contributing to its solution, or postpone their contribution. For the sake of humanity’s common future, everyone is obliged to shoulder responsibility.'
In line with the "Century of Türkiye" vision, we are working towards a pluralistic global media order that places truth, justice, and humanitarian values at the heart of communication.
From Gaza to Ukraine, I respectfully salute all courageous journalists who carry the truth from the front lines to the world. Only when truth survives can justice prevail.
With these sentiments, I once again thank everyone who contributed to organising TRT World Forum 2025 and wish for the program to lead to auspicious outcomes."
