The Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared his assessments regarding the Israeli government's recognition of the independence of the Somaliland region in a post on his NSosyal account.
In his post, Head of Communications Duran noted:
"Israel's statement regarding its recognition of the independence of the Somaliland region constitutes a clear violation of international law.
This step, which amounts to interference in Somalia's internal affairs, targets the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity and further renders the fragile balances in the region more vulnerable.
This stance is one of the irresponsible actions of the Netanyahu government, which has a dark record marked by genocide and occupation, and which undermines efforts for peace and stability in the region.
I believe the international community should take a unified stance against such initiatives that would escalate tensions and increase security risks in the Horn of Africa.
Türkiye will resolutely continue its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of brotherly Somalia."
