Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a post on his NSosyal account regarding the verses quoted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his address at the United Nations.
In his post, Head of Communications Duran stated:
“It was not merely the verses of a poem that resonated from the United Nations rostrum, but the voice of conscience and truth.
The part where President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan concluded his address by reciting verses from the late Sezai Karakoç’s poem ‘They Think That’ was a powerful appeal to humanity’s collective conscience in the face of oppression in different parts of the world, particularly in Gaza.
The verses the poet penned years ago took on renewed meaning at the rostrum of the United Nations General Assembly today.
Truth will not be silenced, conscience will not be silenced, and history will not forget!”
