Presidency's Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran shared a post on his NSosyal account stating that the assaults on Gaza have driven the humanitarian tragedy to an unbearable threshold.
In his post, Head of Communications Duran stated:
“The new wave of assaults launched by Israel in Gaza marks a bloody phase committed by the Netanyahu government. These assaults disregard the fundamental principles of international law, adding a new dimension to Israel’s war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The massacres that have claimed the lives of thousands of Palestinians and the displacement of hundreds of thousands have escalated the humanitarian tragedy to an intolerable level.
There are no excuses left for the international community. It is an obligation for all responsible mechanisms — first and foremost the UN Security Council — to act without delay, secure a ceasefire, and ensure that Israel is held accountable before international law for its crimes.
Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye will never regard this oppression as legitimate, will never accept its normalisation, and will support every initiative undertaken to bring about accountability.
Netanyahu — who has been tried before international courts for war crimes and condemned in the conscience of humanity for the humanitarian catastrophe he has caused — has no validity whatsoever in his remarks about our President concerning Al-Quds, humanity’s common heritage.
Throughout history, Al-Quds has never bowed to Crusader invaders or imperialist powers. Whoever has sought to seize this city by force, oppress its people, and attack its mosques and churches has become nothing more than a cursed footnote in its long history. This blessed city has borne witness to the greatest downfall of all those arrogant and ambitious figures who claimed, ‘It belongs to me alone.’
The sanctity and spirituality of Al-Quds can never be overshadowed by policies of occupation. Until an independent and fully sovereign State of Palestine, based on the 1967 borders with East Al-Quds as its capital, is established, we will continue to stand by our brothers and sisters and their just cause.”
