Head of Communications Duran: “Slander and propaganda cannot change the truth”

The Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, in a post on his NSosyal account, reacted to statements targeting Türkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by the Israeli administration, which has faced international criticism over its attacks on civilians in Gaza. Duran emphasised that Türkiye would continue to stand by the oppressed and defend the truth.

In his post, Head of Communications Duran stated:

“It is the height of audacity for an administration and its leader—with a shameful and immoral record of killing tens of thousands of civilians in Gaza and the West Bank over decades, condemning children to starvation, reducing cities to rubble, and disregarding international law—to presume to lecture Türkiye on morality.

It is one of history’s greatest contradictions that those standing trial before the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide in Gaza seek to smear Türkiye, the conscience of humanity, while recklessly targeting our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a leading voice for the oppressed.

Slander and propaganda cannot change the truth. The slanders of a mindset that has been condemned by the conscience of humanity can neither alter Türkiye's stance nor change the truth.

Under the leadership of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye will continue to be the voice of the oppressed, defend the truth, and stand firmly against oppressors.”
