The Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a post on his social media account regarding 51st anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation:
"The Cyprus Peace Operation marked a historic turning point, carried out 51 years ago with the resolute will of our nation. This step went down in history as a legitimate intervention against the impositions that ignored the Turkish Cypriot people's demands for equality, freedom, and security.
Today, the Cyprus cause is not merely a matter of the past; it is also the name of a vision for the future. Türkiye continues to uphold its determination to protect the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriot people in the same manner to this day.
As our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated: "No one should forget this: we may have different names, but when it comes to the Cyprus cause, our surname is the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus."
We will never relinquish our will to ensure the political equality and sovereignty of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
On this meaningful anniversary, I commemorate our august martyrs who supported the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people with reverence, and our heroic veterans with gratitude."
