Head of Communications Duran shares message on Khojaly Massacre

Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, commemorated with mercy those who lost their lives in the Khojaly massacre through a post shared on his NSosyal account.

In his message, Head of Communications Duran stated:

“The atrocity that took place in Khojaly on 26 February 1992 has been etched into human history as a dark stain. The brutal killing of hundreds of innocent people—without sparing the elderly, women, or children—has left a profound scar in the collective memory of all who possess a conscience.

Khojaly is a wound not only in the heart of Azerbaijan, but also in the conscience of all of us and of humanity as a whole. The tears shed that night have become a symbol of our brotherhood, our solidarity, and our shared struggle.

I commemorate with mercy our brothers and sisters who lost their lives in Khojaly.

We have not forgotten Khojaly, and we will ensure it is never forgotten.”

On the other hand, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared a message on the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly Massacre, carried out by Armenian forces on 26 February 1992 in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region.

In a post on his NSosyal account, President Erdoğan stated:

“On the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly Massacre, I remember with mercy and sorrow our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters who were massacred, and extend my condolences to the friendly and brotherly people of Azerbaijan. We will never forget this inhumane massacre, whose pain we will always feel in the deepest parts of our hearts."
