Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, posted a condolence message from his NSosyal account for the freelance journalist Yahia Barzaq, who was martyred in an Israeli airstrike.
Highlighting that Israel is committing yet another war crime every single day, the Head of Communications remarked:
"The freelance journalist Yahia Barzaq, who had been covering Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza for TRT, was martyred amid an airstrike by the perpetrators of genocide.
Yahia, whose story we witnessed in the TRT World documentary 'Gaza Through My Lens', has been etched in our memory as a brave voice pursuing truth in the shadow of occupation and oppression.
This monstrous entity, which adds yet another war crime to its record each day, will be condemned not only in the conscience of humanity but also before international law.
The Israeli administration should know that with their systematic attacks on journalists, they cannot silence the truth; they will never be able to hide their crimes against humanity and acts of genocide.
May Allah have mercy on our brother Yahia. I extend my condolences to his family, loved ones, and the TRT family.
May he rest in peace."
