Head of Communications Duran shares condolence message for journalists martyred in Gaza

In a message shared on his social media account, Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran conveyed his condolences to the five journalists, two of whom were Al Jazeera reporters, who perished as a consequence of Israel's attack on the tent where they were stationed in Gaza.

Head of Communications Duran included the following statements in his message:

"I have learnt with profound sorrow that five journalists, two of whom were Al Jazeera reporters, lost their lives as a consequence of the occupying Israel's direct targeting of the tent where journalists were located in Gaza.

I wish Allah's mercy upon our journalist colleagues who were martyred while performing their duties and pray for patience for their families.

In an effort to conceal the genocide it perpetrates on the innocent, including infants, children, women, the elderly, and the sick, Israel is targeting journalists. Its objective is to eradicate both humanity and the truth.

I strongly condemn Israel for systematically targeting journalists and perpetrating war crimes in breach of international law. I denounce Israel's unlawful acts of brutality and its attempts to obscure the truth.

I commemorate with mercy the 237 journalists who have lost their lives since October 7, 2023, in Israel's attacks on Gaza. Israel will be held accountable before the law; it will be unable to conceal its actions, the truth, or the genocide."
